About Nadine B. Amaya, Esq.


Nadine Amaya is the managing partner who has been practicing immigration law since 2005. She is admitted to the bar in the State of New Jersey. Prior to starting her own practice, Mrs. Amaya obtained her background in Immigration Law with a renowned immigration attorney in Bergen County. 

She graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University in May 2001, Magna Cum Laude, with a Minor in Social Work.

Mrs. Amaya attended New York Law School where she received her J.D. in May 2004. Mrs. Amaya represents a diverse group of clients on a regular basis before the United Sates Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) pursuant to applications for permanent residence, naturalization and political asylum. She represents clients in immigration matters throughout the United States and has been successful in obtaining permanent residence and naturalization in the United States for them.

Mrs. Amaya handles family-based Immigration, including a wide array of cases such as but not limited to, marriage cases, citizenship, political asylum, battered spouse, fiancé, adoption, orphan, deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) and waiver cases.

Mrs. Amaya also litigates complex deportation matters before the U.S. Immigration Courts (EOIR) and has appeared in numerous jurisdictions including Newark, New York and Philadelphia. 

She has been successful in winning deportation and removal cases for immigrants whose children have special needs and has obtained Green Cards for numerous clients under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Mrs. Amaya has also prevailed in many provisional waiver cases (I-601A).

As an immigrant born in Guyana and now a naturalized citizen, Mrs. Amaya recognizes the personal and legal challenges faced by those who wish to call the United States home. Her personal experience allows her to provide efficient and effective legal services to all clients.

Mrs. Amaya is admitted to practice before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and Federal District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mrs. Amaya is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), American Bar Association (ABA), and the Bergen County Bar Association (BCBA).  She also volunteers her time with New Jersey Legal Services.
